North Suffolk Skills Centre – Halesworth

NEW CENTRE OPENING AT THE NORTH SUFFOLK SKILLS CENTRE

Construction Training Specialists Ltd are delighted to announce the opening of a new centre in January 2018 at the North Suffolk Skills Centre (NSSC), Harrisons Lane, Halesworth, Suffolk.

The North Suffolk Skills Centre has previously been used as an educational centre providing vocational training to students at schools within the North Suffolk area but is now re-opening to provide a wide range of construction and vocational training courses across the Eastern Region.

COURSE DELIVERY

Construction Training Specialists are delighted to announce that we have recently been awarded an amount of funding to deliver non-accredited and accredited courses at both our centres in Norfolk and Suffolk. Our Course Provision is to include: 

Course Provision for Suffolk (NSSC):

  • 3 Day Property Maintenance Course – FREE
  • Look Good Feel Good Course (3 Days 9:00am- 4:00pm) FREE
  • Level 1 Certificate in Multi trade Construction Activities (14 weeks 9:00am-4:00pm) FREE
  • Level 1 Certificate in Floor and Wall Tiling (10 Weeks 9:00am – 4:00pm) FREE
  • Level 1 Award and Certificate in Painting and Decorating (21 Weeks  9:00am – 4:00pm) FREE
  • Level 1 Award and Certificate in Carpentry and Joinery (21 Weeks 9:00am – 4:00pm) FREE
  • Level 1 Award and Certificate in Brickwork (21 Weeks 9:00am – 4:00pm) FREE
  • Level 2 Award in Asbestos Awareness (2 Days 9:00am-4:00pm) FREE

  • Level 1 Certificate in Floor and Wall Tiling (10 Weeks 9:00am – 4:00pm) FREE
  • Level 1 Award and Certificate in Painting and Decorating (21 Weeks  9:00am – 4:00pm) FREE
  • Level 1 Award and Certificate in Carpentry and Joinery (21 Weeks 9:00am – 4:00pm) FREE
  • Level 1 Award and Certificate in Brickwork (21 Weeks 9:00am – 4:00pm) FREE
  • Level 2 Award in Asbestos Awareness (2 Days 9:00am-4:00pm) FREE

Eligibility Requirements
  • Candidates must be 19 years of age or over
  • In receipt of Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA), including those receiving National Insurance credits only
  • Receive Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) and are in the work-related activity group (WRAG)
  • Released on temporary licence and studying outside a prison environment and not funded through the Offenders’ Learning and Skills Service (OLASS).
  • Receive Universal Credit, earn either less than 16 times the national minimum wage / national living wage a week or £330 a month (this is subject to change) and are determined by Jobcentre Plus as being in one of the following groups:-All Work-Related Requirements Group.-Work Preparation Group-Work-Focused Interview Group
  • Receives other state benefits and earns earn either less than 16 times the national minimum wage / national living wage a week or £330 a month (this is subject to change)
  • Community learning funded courses are free to anyone who wishes to attend, however, if an applicant can afford to make a contribution towards the course the they are expected to. This applies to the 3 Day Property Maintenance Course and Look Good Feel Good Course.

Over the last 15 years CTS have built up an excellent reputation with local businesses, individuals and advisors across the region. As of August 2017, CTS were acquired as a subsidiary by Peterborough Regional College which has ensured the development and growth of the business.
