Course Outline:
This Level 3 apprenticeship has been developed for delivery both in a training environment and on site in a working environment. It has been designed to develop and recognise your skills, knowledge, understanding and competence so you can work in Painting and Decorating within the construction industry or progress to further training. As part of the Diploma, you will cover the following areas: – Health, Safety and Welfare, Information, Quantities and Communication, Construction Technology, erecting and dismantling access equipment and working platforms, preparing surfaces for protection and decoration, Applying coatings by brush and roller, apply wall coverings to ceilings and walls, producing advanced decorative finishes, carrying out specialist architectural feature work, applying water-borne paint systems using airless equipment.
As part of your apprenticeship you will also work towards:
  • Level 3 Diploma in Painting and Decorating (Construction)
  • NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Decorative Finishing Painting and Decorating (Construction) – Decorative Finishing
  • Functional Skills Level 2 (if required)
  • Employer Rights and Responsibilities (ERR)

The qualification has been designed to develop and recognise your skills, knowledge and competence so that you can work in Decorative Finishing – Painting and Decorating within the construction industry or progress onto further learning.
