Course Outline:
This qualification is aimed at those who work as surveyors working with glass supporting systems, including window, door and conservatory installation and other external glazed structures and advanced walling systems etc. The qualification is at Level 3 and is ideal for apprentices looking to become experienced surveyors and take a supervisory role, dealing with a wide range of issues, including working with installations that have complex requirements. The apprenticeship is a mix of theory and practical assessment delivered on a classroom and site based basis.
As part of your apprenticeship you will also work towards:
  • Level 3 Certificate in Glass Related Operations
  • NVQ Level 3 Certificate in Fenestration Surveying
  • Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English (if required)
  • Employer Rights and Responsibilities (ERR)
NVQ Mandatory Units:
  • FIS3 Maintain Health & Safety in the Fenestration Installation surveying Environment
  • FIS1 Understanding the Building Regulations in the Fenestration Industry
  • FIS11 Identify Fenestration Installation Requirements
  • AG3 Communicating and Working with Others in the Glass and Related Working Environments
  • FIS12 Produce Specifications for Window and Door, Curtain Wall or Conservatory Installation
NVQ Optional Units:
  • AG18 Ensure Resources are available to Meet Work Requirements in a Glass or Glass Related Working Environment
  • AG2 Promote and Maintain Health and Safety in a Glass or Glass Related Environment
  • CW4 Post Curtain Walling Activity
  • FI13 Post Windows, Doors and Conservatories Installation Activity
  • FIS10 Control the Installation of Windows and Doors, Conservatories or Curtain Walling
  • FIS2 Improve the Work of the Organisation through the Use of Resources, Communication and Working Relationships in a Glass or Glass Related Working Environment
