Course Outline:
This qualification is aimed at those who are experienced in working as a glazier installing glass into a variety of different locations including windows, door frames, shop fronts, structural glass installations, glass stair and block installations, glass balustrades etc also cutting glass and applying window film. This is ideal for staff working in a supervisory capacity, leading glazing teams and solving technical issues. This qualification covers both the practical skills and knowledge and understanding to carry out this role competently.
As part of your apprenticeship you will also work towards:
  • Level 3 Certificate in Glass Related Operations (QCF)
  • Level 3 NVQ Certificate in Glazing (QCF)
  • Functional Skills Level 2 (if required)
  • Employer Rights and Responsibilities qualification (ERR)
NVQ Mandatory Units:
  • Promote and Maintain Health & Safety within the Glass or Glass Related Working Environment
  • Lead the work at glazing sites
  • Install Glass into Glazing Systems
NVQ Optional Units: Group 1:
  • Investigate and Resolve Technical Problems at Glazing Site
  • Glass Cutting in a Range of Sizes
  • Maintain Glazing Systems
