Apprenticeships in the Construction Industry

An apprenticeship is the best way to becoming a construction craft operative.  It enables you to learn, work, earn and get qualified all at the same time, by combining college training with on-site experience. 

An apprenticeship framework is based around a Diploma and NVQ (National Vocational Qualification).  These qualifications are developed and approved, and are designed to measure your practical skills and job knowledge by assessing your work on-site.

As part of your apprenticeship you will also:

  • Gain a Technical Certificate
  • Complete a Heath & Safety Test
  • Achieve the appropriate level of key skills assessment

Construction Training Specialists Ltd (CTS) are an independent training provider specialising in construction-based apprenticeships and are the largest provider of construction apprenticeships within the Eastern region.

We currently offer a portfolio of 25 apprenticeships at Level 2 and Level 3 in various trades and also a Level 4-6 Higher apprenticeship in Construction Management. We work in partnership with the CITB, JTL Training, Apprenticeships Broadland and the Glass Qualifications Authority (GQA).

CTS pride ourselves on our delivery; all tutors are experts within their particular field and have previously worked in the construction industry. We have excellent links with employers and work closely with our students, focusing on their individual skills and strengths working to equip them with the high level of skills required to build a career within the construction industry. Students are taught in group sizes of approximately 12 per tutor, students are taught to work both independently and collaboratively enabling them to gain their qualifications required for their future careers. This can be reflected in our current apprenticeship achievement rates of 85%, which we are pleased to announce are significantly above the National average.
