Apprentices normally start working towards a NVQ Level 2 work based learning qualification, Functional Skills (English and Maths), a relevant knowledge-based qualification such as a Cskills Diploma and ERR (Employer Rights and Responsibilities). On completion, this can lead on to an Advanced Apprenticeship (Level 3) qualification. A Level 2 Apprenticeship is equivalent to 5 GCSEs at grade C and above and a Level 3 Apprenticeship is equivalent to 2 A Level passes. In some apprenticeships, there is the option of progressing to Higher Apprenticeships at Level 4 and above, equivalent to a Foundation Degree. Training will be carried out in the workplace and in a training environment on a day release basis.
The Employer Engagement team at CTS carry out pre-interviews before putting candidates forward for interview to the employer. Candidates may also have the opportunity of doing a one or two day work trial prior to a formal job offer.
